I realized our gahmen is only good for one thing...suggest committees or task force when there are cock-ups.

Indonesian haze problem, SMRT vandalism, NSF training accidents, transport fare hikes,Traffic congestions etc etc..anything and everything cocked up, we set up committees and task forces...talk talk talk

In Japan and Taiwan, all responsible line up one straight row and bow 90 degrees. Ours is "not happy dun take MRT"

Don't forget about the ministerial salaries review committee... Dec ending soon... still no news...

I learn two things from this train stoppage.... 1. The train doors can be forced open. 2. There is a fire extinguisher nearby that can be used to smash the windows.

Track fault disrupts North-South MRT line again

Train service along the North-South MRT line was disrupted again early Saturday morning, just two days after a massive outage wreaked chaos during the peak-hour traffic rush.
Trains were not operating on both bounds between Ang Mo Kio and Marina Bay stations initially early in the morning but service to some stations were gradually added until full service was restored before 2pm.
SMRT told Yahoo! Singapore that train service between Orchard and Marina Bay stations along the came to a halt at 6:50am after a track fault at Orchard station.

The transport operator is still investigating the problem.
Meanwhile, commuters expressed outrage over the third train disruption this week.

On Thursday evening a massive outage also on the North-South line stranded thousands of passengers with some having to walk through a tunnel to reach the next station. At least one woman fainted and some passengers broke a window to let ventilation in.
Two days before that, part of the new Circle Line was down for less than hour.
Kelvin Goh, 25, an operations specialist, was unable to get onto the train from Toa Payoh. "It's unbelievable that SMRT can have so many train faults in a single week. Now I'm going to be late for work. Compensation for my train ride is not enough to make up for the inconvenience caused," he told Yahoo! Singapore.
Frustration was also evident over social networks, with Facebook user Fiona He commenting, "SMRT owes us an explanation! This is ridiculous and getting on our nerves."
Facebook user Skyee Alfonso also questioned, "Didn't they (SMRT) check all tracks after the major disruption on Thursday? It shows that they have not learnt their lesson. Just solving the problem in short term seems like no long term plan is made."
During the Saturday morning train disruption, SMRT advised passengers to seek alternative modes of transportation between the affected area, and provided two-way bus bridging service between some stations.
SMRT said it apologises for the considerable inconvenience caused to commuters due to the breakdown.

My mates actually suggested selling a survival kit for MRT breakdowns. One of the item would be a hammer... a BLUE hammer... to break windows...:nehnehhh:

Hard to keep up with the news

It wasn't just the train network down this morning, one SMRT shuttle bus broke down too :screwedu: They're shutting the main lines on Sunday morning for checks. And oh by the way SMRT is no. 1 in corporate governance, according to ST... it's almost like, "prease bear that in mind when share trading resumes on Monday morning hor."

Meantime Sengkang NEL station roof pichar and SBSTransit claims that section of roof is not theirs wahahaha. Keep it coming fellas!

True to what said...PM said a Committee of Inquiry will be set up...

Once this committee starts to do work, probably another committee will be formed to find out whether all the other committees formed have been doing their committee work and so on....

less ppl affected by that if it's SIA....millions of ppl affected by MRT VS thousands of SIA passengers
SIA, as a properly run commercial co, will defintely not drag its feet round the issue as it means lost revenue and business reputation.
not much to say for SMRT cos its becoming more n more frequent....despite all the bullshit abt its "maintenance", if u guys remember, many months back, after the election, where u see Mr Lui taking MRT, LRT, saying the fare hikes were justified and mrt working hard to improve trips, maintenance....
