I am extremely upset with all these dishonest workshop that quote job at the price then when you make payment they add another 7% GST. Usually I will end up in a short exchange with them that it is against GST regulation to quote without GST. But evertime LAN Lan pay up because sick of auguring with them but I don't visit them again.

Re: Alert: Munich Triple Service Package Complaint

my 2 cents...

as most has mentioned, the TSP was "advertised" with what seems to be routine check, and the package is valid for 3 years, and for the majority of us, that would really be for 3 years due to the low mileage we clock, those with higher mileage would probably used up the package in 1-2 years...

it was clear to me that only oil & oil filter is included plus labour, but that should include whatever check in that 3 years (labour cost), anything extra that need to be replaced will have separate labour & material cost, subject to owners agreement.

I wouldn't know what check is necessary is that 3 years according to BMW standard, so whatever CHECK has to be included.

I was quite pissed off when a site sponsor here (Audio ICE) quoted me a price, then only at payment time, they added GST... and then added extra few percent for credit card (my wallet too small to carry a few thousand dollars cash).

It's not a lot of money (and I din want to question it)... but it goes a long way in building up (or crashing) a company's reputation. I am now looking for someone else to change my speakers (don't want the other China site sponsor though).

to be fair to the site sponsors who are GST-registered, not me ah, sometimes off hand, eg phone enquiry they will tell u its XX dollars for a particular job and need to add 7% GST......to me thats fair enough if they tell ppl upfront, can't expect them to remember with GST its how much unless the co build in the 7% and work backward.
for the IRAS ruling, its with regards to published rate.....so anything on print, media, pls include 7% as part of the price lo

Re: Alert: Munich Triple Service Package Complaint

I did a wheels alignment with MA. They charged me $200+. I was happy they did a good job. Also not familiar with the price - had a feeling that $200+ was ok (= one lunch with mother-in-law only mah).

Two months later, I was at Sountwerke (Sin Ming) and saw Kian Teong was opposite (famous for doing wheel alignment). Made a enquiry and was told wheel alignment about $70 (5 series).

My fault for trusting everybody.

Nowadays, I don't even trust God.

wheel alignment mkt rate for outside workshop is around 80 bucks....someplace sometimes charge even lower at 60 bucks.
no harm asking around unless u are really fixed on a particular workshop to do your ride regardless of the rate charged

hmm...wonder how many site sponsors really take his advices seriously ....

Yes I did here:

and I have reported one such site sponsor to IRAS after i posted that thread and they still dun learn. Anyway the last I heard they were fined. Orh bee good!

Re: Alert: Munich Triple Service Package Complaint

PML mentioned to me about inspection 1 and 2 before. Quite a number of things to check when a certain mileage is reached......

Volvo also has a package for a quick oil change but their marketing is clearer

- catered for those that has time only for a quickie during lunch hours
- change oil and filter including labour ONLY
- tell you about price and gst

they are organized like a hospital.

So far my experience with them quite different from PML and MA. MA's business process and marketing alignment has lots of development opportunities to be a specialist clinic. Going to PML is like visiting a polyclinic at times.

Specific to this issue: All 'authorised brand dealership' will not be cheaper than other places or places where they only do wheel alignment. This reality of fact has to be considered. Not MA nor any other 'authorised brand dealership' is to be blamed upon, only blame is we customers.

Can someone report MA to the tax authorities if they have been quoted a price without GST recently or if they have brochures as proof?

I am particularly annoyed with such practices of price quotes without GST, especially on big ticket items.

Re: Alert: Munich Triple Service Package Complaint

I guess people will only see how petty they are when good alternative options to PML are gone.

Munich, particularly Hendra, has exceeded my expectations every time because I bother to do my homework and I am able to make an informed decision. If anyone is to blame anytime, it's me.
