Degree no good ..... just get a good job

The way I see it - there will always be 2 camps. Just like every other topic. 2 sides, 2 views, 2 breasts, 2 balls whatever..

Camp 1 - People who had gone to do a degree. Some have multiple degrees. Some are even specialists in their own fields. Even rarer, some came from Ivy leagues. To tell these people, hey your degrees are toilet papers is like a slap on their faces. Almost equivalent to hey you retard, why spend so much time and money on a piece of paper that has no use. It will be perceived as offensive.

Camp 2 - People who hadn't gone to uni but made it rather well or splendid for themselves in life. They prefer people to perceive them as using hardwork and brains to achieve what they have today regardless of any papers. They are staunch believers that papers aren't necessity to succeed in jobs because they are walking living examples of success stories. If one prods them further, a hint of self defence may springs up. Because performance in studies and credentials by papers are somewhat relating to more delicate issues.

Debates like these will never end. Pragmatic approach vs follow your heart. Fact of live vs sensitivity. It goes on and on. In the end, unfortunately it is the society who judges you. That means your prospective employers and those who paid you to put bread on the table (this can means your customers who hire your service presuming you run a biz). Whether camp 1 or camp 2, you have a lot of people to convince unless you live like a hermit.
There are also ppl who hadn't gone to Uni but made it well in life. Subsequently, they went to get MBA.

Camp 1.5?:)

The top percentile of degree holders will always be good. It is what I said, natural selection. What we should not end up with is a large pool of middle-bottom percentile of degree holders who spent so much on education but has no real value.

MBBS has no mathematics. Clinical statistics? That is not an MBBS. TNP blows fish out of water?

Apparently, the MBBS(child psychology) is some PRC chick running this tuition centre out of 2 shop houses. TNP might have pichared her lobang with the report yesterday. MOH is apparently investigating. If she turns out to be a degree-less PRC pretending to have a degree, what camp would that make her?

Colombo/Commonwealth plan scholars are high flyers by and large. How come he always seem to put pedis into orifice (foot in mouth) whenever he speaks to the press ah?

Just a random thought from my mind. All I can say is many values of life are not taught in universities. A person can obtain a PhD but could still be an axxhole.

Re: Degree no good ..... just get a good job

我的妈呀! after 23 pages it seems like ppl have fcuked themselves big time if they got no degree, no good job, never do well in life, neither fall in camp 1 nor camp 1,5 camp 2 or camp infinity.

Hang on,
At least to me, if you can live happliy plus contented with what you had achieved then nothing matters.
Of course some guys will argue that everyone wanna aim high and that's good thing I won't deny but also gotta be realistic lah ... a pig is still a pig!

Pls don't laugh and despise this pig though he is the fattest and ugliest but he's extremely happy.
Reason - all the sows wanna share food with him plus make love with him. Eat soft rice pig, sart!

I think u missed the major point of relativity....

Percentile of degree holder doing well in life will be greater than diploma holder and percentile of diploma holder doing well will be greater than high school cert holder.... and it goes on...

It's always relative and the percentage .... its like the media showcasing millionaire with no education; how many can achieve that... maybe like 1 in 100,000, versus like 1 in 100 for degree holder...
