Re: Degree no good ..... just get a good job
Camp 1.5?
There are also ppl who hadn't gone to Uni but made it well in life. Subsequently, they went to get MBA.DrK;988498 said:The way I see it - there will always be 2 camps. Just like every other topic. 2 sides, 2 views, 2 breasts, 2 balls whatever..
Camp 1 - People who had gone to do a degree. Some have multiple degrees. Some are even specialists in their own fields. Even rarer, some came from Ivy leagues. To tell these people, hey your degrees are toilet papers is like a slap on their faces. Almost equivalent to hey you retard, why spend so much time and money on a piece of paper that has no use. It will be perceived as offensive.
Camp 2 - People who hadn't gone to uni but made it rather well or splendid for themselves in life. They prefer people to perceive them as using hardwork and brains to achieve what they have today regardless of any papers. They are staunch believers that papers aren't necessity to succeed in jobs because they are walking living examples of success stories. If one prods them further, a hint of self defence may springs up. Because performance in studies and credentials by papers are somewhat relating to more delicate issues.
Debates like these will never end. Pragmatic approach vs follow your heart. Fact of live vs sensitivity. It goes on and on. In the end, unfortunately it is the society who judges you. That means your prospective employers and those who paid you to put bread on the table (this can means your customers who hire your service presuming you run a biz). Whether camp 1 or camp 2, you have a lot of people to convince unless you live like a hermit.
