I believe when the gasket is replaced but where the gasket would sit is not properly cleaned,it will result in problems.

Well if I may add, I am currently facing leakage even after Gasket change. The only culprit after several trips to Doc, is the plastic valve cover it warp due to the heat I suppose, gasket not tightly sealed. no stock for the past month from ES, I hear only available in mid dec, and it cost 400 bucks ! I understand.....:|

Went to the place lkm reccomended and just a word of warning

The place is so full of bimmers hahaha, so if you are going to do a major overhaul, it might take some time though :(

Got my white light fixed up there and it is awesome!

Change my ae lights to white only hahaha ours would be yellow by default

It the mtec v4 lights from e92lightning
But the price would be near similar if you get it from Bimshop though , so its up to your personal preferences

Its really bright ! Hahaha now I don't mind driving with my ae lights during the day.

Btw Francis reccomended me to use 10w60 for the next servicing ... do u do the same ?

Re: E90 engine oil leak experience

I'm using Pennzoil Ultra 5W40... But I may be considering thicker oils. Coz although I don't have any leaks now (at least, not that I know of!), my ride is still consuming about 1litre of oil every 5000km... Seems "normal" by the standards of most e90's around this age...

Re: E90 engine oil leak experience

Personally, I'm considering a HID swap of my existing H7's..... And please don't tell me about LTA s**t.... LOL..... Tempting, tempting....

Why would Francis Recommend 10w60, wouldn't it be a bit too thick??

Coz the thicker oil should be more resistant to leaking and consumption by the engine (at least in theory). Old engines have looser tolerances and tend to burn oil as it seeps through the pistons into the combustion chamber. The oil is meant to lubricate. Thicker oils have a lower tendency to seep through - and therefore not burn as quickly.... I think most people won't feel too much difference lah...

Personally, I'm sticking to 5W40, and always have an additional 1ltr bottle in my boot as spare. Top up when required.... From my experience so far, my car would need about 1ltr top up between every 10,000km oil change interval. So I always buy 1 more bottle of oil for this top up... LOL

Re: E90 engine oil leak experience

$$$.. haha.... poi$on... But the HID conversion looks like the cheapest way to convert - no changing of headlights required. Can easily swap back to original halogens for inspection.... 10min job!

Re: E90 engine oil leak experience

Nice and definitely brighter than my AE rings, which is mtech v2.0 lol

10w60 way too think for NA engines, but bro lkm is right and also you consume little more fuel and sacrifice some mileage in return for greater engine protection.

Hey guys,

Since we are on this. I will trade in my car soon. Anyone keen in this very OEM looking Depo modified projector headlights I bought from Jlevi StreetWerks? It cost me US $514.85 (include shipping). It was bought/installed last year. It passed the Viacom inspection. I will sell together with the LED daytime running lights I installed at McWell. All for $300 (we can go to your appointed workshop and do the swap, you will have to cover the labor though) :chinese:.

Let me know if any of you is keen?
