so ur priority is heat resistance or look??

my priority is heat resistence now, cos after my visit to CNL and VKOOL, learning that to stay within legal limits won't give me that OLL look due to my bright interior colour.

from Halim @ SIM MING, legal limits won't passed with X75 installed on the 2 front door. its only for the front windscreen.
question, is X75 = VK75? from the way u have been describing, it seems different.

sorry my BAD. I checked on VKOOL international website again, it said,

X75

Leading our range of V-KOOL Stature's spectrally selective coatings in visible light transmittance is X75 (formerly known as V-KOOL 75). While looking deceptively clear, X75 is a full-fledge, spectrally selective coating with good solar heat rejection properties. The performance behind X75 lies in its complex multi-layer thin coatings of metallic substances, such as silver. Although the total heat rejection is not as high as V-KOOL 70, the key advantage of X75 is its high light transmission which may be required for certain applications.

theoretically X75 might be jus VK75 previously.

Re: Window Tint, which brand Huper Optik, Vkool, Cool n lite, 3M

It looks like the front will fail as well if X75 is applied. Our glass should be 90% VLT so adding one with 75% VLT film will mean the front is 65% VLT in total...

CNL's premium's may be the solution. 86% VLT on a glass with 90%VLT will mean a total VLT of 75%.

acu....fri lor. but no sun!. haa

if u want to stay within legal limits..not much choices to play with. just go with kenn's package.

Re: Window Tint, which brand Huper Optik, Vkool, Cool n lite, 3M

at the show room, didnt they demo the heat resistance to you??
if u have cash, go for VKOOL premier.
if u care so much about heat resistance, go non compliance, anyway ur car is new. still got 3 years before inspection.

that was what went thru my mind too. anyway, heard that some inspection agencies dont really inspect tint, unless it looks outright non-compliant. my VK75 front looks perfectly clear visually

Re: Window Tint, which brand Huper Optik, Vkool, Cool n lite, 3M

enjoy now....worry later. haa
plus it makes ur car look so much nicer....unless u go JB often like acu, then i am not sure

Re: Window Tint, which brand Huper Optik, Vkool, Cool n lite, 3M

i did... they jus demo by asking you to feel it for less than 10sec. I bet all film can achieve that heat resistant effects.

its Vkool premier = kenn's spec?

ahem...mind is not ocmplaince. h ah aha
they gave me a cert to say they not reliable...nabei. haaa

My experience and opinions given to me within the legal limits....... V KOOL !!!

Within the legal limits, only V Kool has the reflective material to deflect the rays off - hence the perception that ERP gantry cannot scan our IU - this is not true about cutting "holes" for legal version. Of course, I cannot vouch for it if you go higher tint - but doesn't that suggest that the quality is better? I mean, if anything can potentially interfere with the ERP gantry's scanner, it has to be thicker than the other brands, and if it is thicker, it has to be more insulation there...... okay okay, not exactly flawless logic, but you'll get what I am getting at.

Cost for my car $680 plus sunroof $100. ZERO bubbling at all. But stick to the main outlet at Sin Ming.

The other issue is the way they treat your car when they cut the film - V Kool is so professional the protective cloth they lay on my bonnet and dashboard looks newer than those I used on my car.......

Why $680 so cheap. Is it E92?

My E90 Vkool cost me $950(done via PML). If walk in customer $1050. 1.5 years ago, or I kena carrot !!!

ABD, do u remember what's your spec?

Re: Window Tint, which brand Huper Optik, Vkool, Cool n lite, 3M

wow lau...u want to ask how many ppl? what u want to find out exactly?

Re: Window Tint, which brand Huper Optik, Vkool, Cool n lite, 3M

for the sake of doubts and those interested doing window film installation. I will explain my intention why I started this thread and keep asking, but it will be a bit lengthy.

After my trip down to VKOOL and COOL n LITE last weekend. I've gathered lots of 1st hand information regards their product and cost. Quotes from both side, and realised the cost
difference its range between $200-$300.

Cost & Package

COOL n LITE had 3 package. As simple as Standard, Premium Package & Titan. As I never ask for any brochure, their verbal quote to me its $800+ for Titan, $700+ for Premium $400+ for Standard. OUB car member gets 10% or 15% discount, can't remember.

VKOOL only had different car size package and E90 its consider Medium Sedan its cost $780. it comes with X75 for FWS, J83 for FSD, K37 for entire rear. If you choose to opp for upgrades to VK70 for the rear, top up $120 for RSD and $150 for RWS. Or VK40 upgrades for the rear will be $200 for RSD and $220 for RWS. so let's do the maths.

if Kenn paid $680+$100 (sunroof), got X75 on FWS, J83 on FSD and VK70 on all R. He got a pretty good deal. let's assume his coupe can consider as SEDAN cost $680.

$680 + $100 (sunroof) + $120 + 150 (upgrade to VK70 on RS & RWS) = $1050.

Even ABD paid $950 its cheap assume he too had upgrades to VK70 for the rear.

So with the upgrades to VK70 for the rear, can you said its premier for VKOOL?

Take a look at the comments from the specialists:

(1) "Tinted windows just blocked visible light and that might be helpful for glare or if you're doing something illegal in your car...... but if you are trying to keep cool, it's not gonna do much for you......customers should expect to pay more for a metallic film that will reflect light and keep a car cooler."

SOLAR FILM WITH A DIFFERENCE

Go through the materials and what they were made of..... found nothing except this:

SOLAR FILM WITH A DIFFERENCE

What happened to the metallic film they talked about in their myth-busting section?

Strange.

(2) "The technology behind V-KOOL’s revolutionary performance is in a complex process of embedding multiple stacks of heat reflecting. The super clear substrate is embedded with 7 atomic layers of Gold, Silver and Indium Oxide. This complex process gives V-KOOL it's amazing heat reflection qualities without looking reflective or dark."

V-KOOL Singapore

Pretty much explained the technology behind the pedigree. Contrast it against Cool & Lite's product specifications.

If I paid $700 for VKOOL Eurospec with VK70 upgrades on the rear which normally cost $1050, is it cheap compare to what HITMEE paid for his premium CNL? Because I'm sure from the specs, VKOOL its better than CNL. But if I choose CNL exactly like HITMEE's spec I won't have to pay his price cos I had my PML SA discount.

my apology because I don't know how to make this reply shorter.
