Engine oil top up in between service

If no visible oil leaks around the engine bay area (usually black clumpy oil with dust), the seals or leaking on floor after overnight parking, then its usually internal leaks. 1 way to find out whether it is internal leaking (and burning internally) is to start the car after overnight parking...

Requesting some advice for 2014 F30 316i Problems

Dude, go to any of the site sponsor workshop, they are specialised in BMW diagnosis and repairs. Do not feel that just because they are sponsors, they will be expensive, no, I personally have tried 2 of them and found both are experts, give good diagnosis and reasonable cost, when compared to...

A video on how to change F20 gearbox oil

You can even change them yourself if you have the right tools and equipment and of course, the right means to dispose of the spent oil. Most workshops should allow you to get your own spare parts and they will charge labour, including site sponsors. Of course no warranty on any issues in case...

Topping up of engine oil quite often

For me, it was every 5K, then 4K, then finally every 1K. Similar to yours, no external signs. Change whatever you have changed but oil still disappearing. Finally changed the valve seals and solved the problem. Parts + Labour below S$200. Hope this info helps

Need advice on f10 523i - gearbox problem?

Yep, mostly like the solenoids for 1-2 gear has gone kaput. Since yours is a 2012 with 4 years to go, I would suggest changing the whole mechatronics rather than just the solenoids.

Planning to buy my first BMW

Mileage is not really an issue if the previous/current owner has taken good care of the ride with on-time maintenance and changing of worn parts. Some are better condition than low mileage (near 100K) but the owner still let all the usual leaks/worn out stuff to continue sitting under the hood...

    E90 engine oil leak experience

Depends whether do you want to drive for longer or scrapping soon. If only left 1 year or so, then leave it be and top up as needed. If still left a couple of years, then have it checked. It may not be the valve seal or it may not ONLY be the valve seal. Leaks may be internal or external...

Valve Seals & Valve Cover Gasket change – white smoke problem solved – BMW E90

Many root cause for white smoke, not only valve seals. However I believe there is no accurate way to find out the actual reason, unless the spare part is physically changed. (meaning, labour and spare parts already charged) If you have no history of changing valve seals for the ride, then i...

I got my VW last year. COE secured and registered on 30th Oct. Collected on 2nd Nov. Ride was already in so they precheck before the COE I guessed. If collect 3-4 weeks AFTER registration, then I believe you should email to the PML HQ for clarification and possible compensation. No use...

Loss of power and Engine sign

I dont think this is something that we can just flick a few switches or buttons and the problem will be solved. Engine warning sign is always a serious thing and should go ws asap. Go to the site sponsor or your usual ws to take a look quickly. you wouldnt want the ride to suddenly break down...

    Renewing my E60 520i

any of the Sponsor ws will advise you in greater details. Don't think that just because they are sponsors, they will be expensive. This is not true. The professional advice that they provide will certainly give you a peace of mind and a gauge of how much you will need to spend. 1-worn out...

Site sponsors have various packages available, depending on the type of oil. Ranging from ~149 for Shell, ~200 for mobil and ~255 for OWS (4 cylinder). Just call to ask, no obligation. Some may even accept you bringing your own oil and filter

The Tapatalk app just link to this BMW forum site and this page is quiet, nothing to do with the app. You may want to post your enquiry/question to the General page of this forum as probably many 1st time diesel owners have either switched or gave up on diesel rides. Cheerio
